January 2021 Update from the Darfus Family
Happy New Year!
Hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s!
We weren’t sure what to share with you this month, but God shared something with us at church last Sunday and we thought we’d pass it along to you. In his message Sunday morning, our preacher read Revelation 3:7-8. Although the message is to the Church in Philadelphia, these words were exactly what I (Becky) needed to hear.
When we were preparing to come to the field, Doug often shared in our talk to churches “that God can open doors, but if we aren’t walking forward, we can’t go through them.” God opened doors for us to come to the field. Although anxious, we stepped through them.
As with millions of other people, 2020 was a difficult year for our family. It has also been difficult in the ministry. Through Covid-19 and other things, many obstacles have arisen since we came to the field. At times, it’s discouraging and disheartening. What a timely reminder that no matter what obstacles might arise, what doors God opens, no one can close! Thank you, Jesus! We serve an amazing God.
It’s likely you may be facing obstacles today that can cause you to stumble and ask “why?” Don’t give up. If you are walking in faith, God is going ahead of you. If He has opened the door for you, no one else can close it. Praise His name!
We would appreciate your prayers as we minister to Native American youth in 2021. God has a plan, even if we don’t always know the tiny details. And as always, we would love to pray for your needs as well. Just send us an email to doug.darfus@wgm.org or becky.darfus@wgm.org.
Thank you for being a part of the team!
Doug and Becky
If you would like to help us reach Native American children & youth, we would appreciate any and all prayers and donations.
